17-year-old escapes from Omorfita detention – Search operation underway
A teenage detainee managed to escape from Omorfita Police Station, resulting in prosecuting authorities launching an operation to locate him.
The individual is a 17-year-old Syrian national who was being held in custody in relation to a theft and illegal possession of property case, according to Philenews.
A special crisis management centre is currently operating, whilst investigations and interrogations are being conducted with the aim of locating the young man and recapturing him. The method by which the escape took place is being investigated by the relevant authorities.
This particular incident is not the first recorded at the said station, as previous years have seen other similar cases of escape from the same premises.
