Probationary police officer dismissed after anabolic substances found
A member of the police force who was still in probationary service has been dismissed today, after being taken into custody by authorities on 4 June 2026 following the discovery of vials containing anabolic substances in his possession.
The relevant decision was issued by the Head of the Force, having received approval from the Minister of Justice and Public Order. The procedure was based on a specific provision of the Police Law of 2004.
In a statement issued by the Force, it was emphasised that conduct that violates the law, instances of corruption or arbitrary use of power are not tolerated. The police administration stressed that the elimination of such phenomena is at the top of its objectives.
The probationary officer in question was taken into custody on 4 June during a preliminary examination into a case concerning illegal possession of anabolic substances. The investigation is continuing by the competent services.
