Attempted murder in Nicosia: eight-day detention for two arrested men

The Nicosia District Court has issued an order for eight-day detention against two men — aged 24 and 21 — arrested in connection with an attempted murder in Nicosia in the early hours of Tuesday, according to Politis.
The victim, a 21-year-old, was transferred injured to Nicosia General Hospital at around 1:15 am and is hospitalised in critical condition.
The two suspects were arrested on the basis of court warrants and brought before the District Court, which ordered their detention for eight days.
According to evidence being examined by the authorities, the 21-year-old was allegedly attacked with a knife by another person. Police officers attended the scene of the incident, conducted on-site examinations and collected various pieces of evidence.
