As part of an investigation into a suspected abduction or unlawful deprivation of liberty, the prosecuting authorities have released a photograph of a missing young man.

The person in question is Shahruar Ahmed Emon, 22, from Bangladesh. Available information indicates that on the morning of 12 June 2026 he left his home, saying he was going to a factory for the first time, without specifying exactly where it was located.

That same evening, the young man sent a message via a mobile application to an acquaintance with a specific address. From that point onwards, all contact with him ceased. His father also received a message from his son's phone, containing a request for help, but no further communication followed.

The 22-year-old's device remains switched off and is not responding to calls from family members. The release of his photograph aims to help gather information that will lead to his whereabouts being established.

Anyone with information that might prove useful to the investigation is asked to contact the Larnaca Crime Investigation Department on 24-804060 or the nearest police station.
