A car driver without registration plates rammed a motorcycle belonging to a member of Unit Z in Limassol and fled, whilst the police officer used his service weapon to immobilise the vehicle.

A serious incident involving gunfire unfolded in Limassol when a driver without registration plates attacked a police officer with his vehicle and subsequently disappeared.
The incident began in the Omonoia area, where a member of Unit Z noticed the vehicle moving without valid registration plates. The officer instructed the driver to stop for inspection, but the driver ignored the order and accelerated.
During the pursuit, the suspect entered a narrow street with no exit. According to authorities, he reversed and accelerated towards the police officer, striking his motorcycle.
The officer responded by drawing his service pistol and firing at the car's wheels, which immobilised it. Nevertheless, the perpetrator managed to escape on foot or in the same vehicle.
The police officer was taken to a medical facility for precautionary examination. Authorities are conducting an extensive operation to locate and apprehend the driver, whilst the investigation into the circumstances of the incident continues.
