A vehicle belonging to a 59-year-old man that was parked near his home in a settlement in Nicosia district was destroyed by fire that broke out in the early morning hours.
According to Philenews, the flames emerged around 4:30 am. Firefighters arrived immediately and extinguished the fire, but the car suffered total destruction.
Initial assessments by the competent services at the scene lead to the conclusion that the fire was not an accident, but likely started intentionally. The prosecuting authorities are conducting an investigation to establish exactly what happened and what factors led to the incident.
