Lawyer arrested for sexual harassment of 19-year-old at Limassol drug enforcement office
A lawyer was remanded in custody following a complaint from a 19-year-old alleging sexual harassment within the offices of the Drug Combating Service (YKAN). The case has been referred to the Limassol District Court.

A lawyer was arrested in Limassol following a complaint from a 19-year-old alleging sexual harassment, which allegedly took place within the offices of the Drug Combating Service (YKAN), whilst the young woman was in the process of receiving legal representation.
According to Philenews, the case originated from a YKAN operation at a residence in Mouttagiaka, during which approximately 65 grammes of narcotics were located and seized. During the aforementioned operation, the 19-year-old and one other person were arrested and taken to the YKAN offices for questioning.
During the questioning, the 19-year-old requested legal aid, which was granted. The lawyer who was called is alleged to have sexually harassed the young woman whilst she was in the process of consultation within the service's premises.
The 19-year-old filed a complaint at Limassol Police. The arrest of the lawyer followed, who is being investigated for the offence of sexual harassment. Limassol Police confirmed the complaint that Philenews brought to light, but stated that it would make no further statements owing to the nature of the case.
The accused lawyer is expected to appear before the Limassol District Court for the filing of the case. Investigations by the relevant authorities are ongoing.
