Two more individuals were taken into custody yesterday afternoon as investigations into a violent incident in the Xylophagou area continue. The individuals are a twenty-year-old and a thirty-year-old, who were arrested at approximately 6:30 p.m. and are expected to be presented before the District Court of Famagusta for the issuance of a remand detention order.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:40 p.m. on 8 July, when a group of individuals was reportedly involved in a clash. When police officers arrived at the scene, those involved had already disappeared. However, during the process of gathering and evaluating evidence, information emerged against a twenty-seven-year-old man. The latter had already been arrested on 9 July by court order and was placed in custody to facilitate the investigation.

The total number of suspects now in the hands of the authorities has risen to three. The Police Station of the area, in cooperation with the Famagusta Crime Detection Department, is conducting further investigations for complete clarification of the case.
