Two men, aged 41 and 30, were arrested at Larnaca airport for the shooting attack against a 43-year-old who was driving a rental vehicle in Nicosia.

Two individuals, aged 41 and 30, were arrested yesterday evening at Larnaca airport upon their arrival in Cyprus in connection with an attempted murder against a 43-year-old in Nicosia. According to Philenews, arrest warrants were issued as part of the police investigation into the case.
The attack was carried out on 29 July 2026, when the 43-year-old, whilst driving a rental vehicle in an area of the capital, came under gunfire. He was not injured and reported the incident to Nicosia CID.
Members of Nicosia CID and the Criminal Investigation Service of the Police Headquarters conducted examinations at the scene of the incident and at the vehicle, from which evidence was collected. The evidence has been sent for scientific and laboratory analysis.
The investigation by Nicosia CID for the complete clarification of the case continues.
