Lithuanian property agent extradited to Cyprus over alleged misappropriation of Greek-Cypriot properties
The Lithuanian property agent arrested in Nice will be extradited to the Republic of Cyprus following the rejection of her appeal by a French court.
French court rejects appeal – Lithuanian handed over to Cypriot authorities
The 53-year-old Lithuanian property agent arrested at Nice airport on 16 May will be extradited to the Republic of Cyprus, according to Philenews. Competent sources confirmed that the procedure will be completed "once all formal procedures are finished", without specifying a timeframe.
The arrest was carried out in application of a European arrest warrant issued by the Republic of Cyprus. The charge concerns the misappropriation of Greek-Cypriot properties in the occupied territories.
In early July, the defendant filed an appeal against the execution of the warrant before a French court. The court rejected her request, following an examination that lasted between two weeks and a month.
With the rejection of her appeal, the European arrest warrant will be executed and the Lithuanian will be handed over to the authorities of the Republic of Cyprus, where she will be tried for the charges she faces.
