Two individuals aged 20 have been detained in connection with the fire at a betting agency in Limassol, according to Philenews. The arrests were made on the basis of court warrants to facilitate investigations.
The fire started at around 2.50 a.m. at the betting agency, which is owned by a 40-year-old. Neighbours managed to extinguish it before it spread inside the shop. The fire destroyed the glass display case and caused damage to the masonry.
Subsequent investigations showed that this was a deliberate arson attack using flammable material. Evidence was secured against the two suspects, which led to the issuance of arrest warrants.
The Limassol Police Department is continuing its investigation.
