Police officers and firefighters arrived at the scene immediately, managed to extinguish the flames and cordoned off the premises for technical examination.

At the time of the incident, two people were inside the shop, who managed to leave without injuries. Initial assessments indicate that the fire caused minor damage to the glass façade and the interior of the premises. However, the findings have led the prosecuting authorities to conclude that this is a case of arson.

According to Philenews, the owner of the shop is a British national, who stated to the authorities that he has no suspicion about who could be behind the act and that he has no dispute with anyone.

Samples were collected from the scene of the incident for laboratory analysis. Investigators are also seeking footage from closed-circuit cameras in the surrounding area, with the aim of identifying the movements of those responsible before and after the incident. Lemesos CID is continuing investigations with undiminished intensity, aiming at the identification and arrest of the perpetrators, as well as the determination of the reasons that led to the criminal act.
