A 36-year-old man was sentenced to ten years' imprisonment by Paphos court in a case involving a large quantity of cannabis and dangerous driving behaviour.
The incident began in May 2025, when officers from the anti-narcotics unit decided to check his vehicle in the Paphos area. Instead of stopping, the driver accelerated and attempted to flee. During the pursuit, his car struck two police patrol vehicles.
When finally apprehended, the authorities found more than twelve kilograms of cannabis inside the vehicle, along with a small quantity of white powder which they suspected was cocaine. The man was arrested on the spot.
The court imposed seven years for the drugs offence and three additional years for dangerous driving, with the two sentences running concurrently for a total of ten years' imprisonment.
