On Friday afternoon (15/6), two individuals wearing hoods and carrying sports bags approached a bank branch in the Kiti area. The incident occurred at approximately 2 p.m., when staff alerted authorities to suspicious activity.
According to witnesses, the two unknown individuals descended from a saloon vehicle and moved towards the entrance of the branch. However, the controlled access system had locked the doors, preventing them from entering.
Realising that their plan had failed, the perpetrators returned to their vehicle and disappeared in an unknown direction. Larnaca Police rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area for investigation.
Investigators are examining video footage from security cameras in the surrounding area, hoping to identify details about the suspects' identities or their getaway vehicle.
