Police arrested a 31-year-old man following a search of his residence, vehicle and van, where a hand grenade, electronic items, tools and a quantity of cannabis were found.

A 31-year-old man was arrested yesterday by the prosecuting authorities as part of an investigation into the illegal possession of explosives and property.
During searches carried out at the suspect's residence, vehicle and van, based on court warrants, authorities located and seized a hand grenade which appears at first glance to be of a training type, electronic items, various tools and a small quantity of cannabis. The 31-year-old was arrested in flagrante delicto.
Subsequently, a summons warrant was issued against him, on the basis of which he was remanded in custody to facilitate investigations.
The arrested man is expected to be brought before the Famagusta District Court today for a detention order to be issued.
The TAE and YKAN Famagusta are continuing investigations.
