A young man attacked police officers with a blade and paper cutter, injuring them, when they went to arrest him outside his residence.

Police officers from Xylophagou and Xylotymvou stations were deployed yesterday at approximately 5:30 pm to a settlement in Famagusta district. Their objective was to locate a 29-year-old man, as there was a court order for his arrest due to his failure to appear in legal proceedings.
The suspect was found outside his home armed with a blade and a paper cutter. When the officers informed him of the reason for their presence, he refused to cooperate and launched an attack against them. In the altercation, they sustained injuries to their extremities.
Despite his refusal to surrender, the young man was arrested for the offences he committed at that moment, as well as due to the outstanding warrant. He was taken into custody.
The injured police officers were transferred to Famagusta General Hospital for first aid and were subsequently discharged.
The local station is conducting further investigation into the incident.
