Members of the Police in Ayia Napa arrested two people following an attack by an intoxicated person on a police officer during a night patrol.

In the early hours in the tourist area of Ayia Napa, police on patrol spotted two men. One was holding a stick and his companion was carrying a bottle, a fact that caused concern.
When the authorities approached the pair for a check, one of them, who appeared to have consumed alcohol, physically attacked a police officer, pushing him. The attacker was arrested on the spot for flagrant offences.
Along with the perpetrator of the assault, the second man was also arrested. Both are accused of possession of offensive objects. They are scheduled to be brought before court for immediate trial.
