Prosecuting authorities made seven arrests on Thursday evening during coordinated patrols in central urban areas. The operations form part of ongoing efforts to prevent serious criminal acts and strengthen public safety.

During the night-time checks, officers stopped and examined 511 drivers and 131 passengers. Additionally, 41 inspections were carried out at premises, resulting in eight reports for various violations.

As part of traffic control checks, 238 road traffic violations were recorded. Six cases of suspected traffic violations are also under investigation. Among the violations recorded, 96 drivers were charged with exceeding the speed limit. Four vehicles were seized as part of the investigations.

Of the 76 alcohol tests carried out, two individuals were found to be above the legal limit. Two drivers also tested positive on preliminary checks for drugs.

Authorities announced that crime-fighting operations continue on a daily basis, with an enhanced street presence, targeted checks and rapid interventions, with a view to protecting citizens and maintaining lawfulness.
