The Anti-Narcotics Service dismantled a network that imported synthetic drugs across Cyprus, with the seizure of approximately 60 kilograms of substances and multiple arrests.

The Anti-Narcotics Service (ANS) carried out targeted operations that began in mid-June 2026, resulting in the dismantling of an extensive network involved in the importation and distribution of synthetic drugs at a nationwide level.
According to a report by Philenews, the authorities seized approximately 60 kilograms of methamphetamine and proceeded with the arrest of 21 suspects. Two additional people are being sought for involvement in the cases.
From the 17 cases that emerged from the investigation, 16 have already been brought before court and referred to the Court of Assizes. All those arrested are being held in custody pending trial.
The investigation revealed evidence against three of those in custody, according to which they allegedly imported additional quantities of substances over the past three months. Additional charges were filed against them for this action.
Police officers came into contact with an international courier company that was being used to transport the packages containing drugs to Cyprus. Following recommendations and interventions, the company suspended the ability to send similar products to the island.
The ANS stated that it continues efforts to locate and dismantle organised groups engaged in the trade and distribution of psychotropic substances, as well as in preventing their importation into the country.
