A coordinated operation by the customs authorities, YKAN Paphos, the Police and the Pharmaceutical Department resulted in the seizure of 377 packages of illegal nicotine pouches from a kiosk in Lower Paphos.

The operation was carried out on 13 July and resulted in the arrest of the owner for customs offences committed in the course of business. The authorities identified products from various companies that had been imported and offered for sale without the required licences for the Cypriot market.

Furthermore, it was found that the owner did not possess the necessary licence to trade in or sell lawful tobacco products. All nicotine pouches were seized.

Ultimately, the owner accepted an out-of-court settlement of €3,100 and agreed in writing to surrender the seized products, which will be destroyed in accordance with the prescribed procedures, as announced by the Customs Department.
