Bilge Lord Kuntouratzi, 38, has been convicted by the Nicosia Assizes Court of the murder of her son, Erzan Kaya Kuntouratzi, on 25 May 2018.
According to Cyprus Today, the court heard that the mother repeatedly stabbed the child over two consecutive days, striking his chest and abdomen. The boy had wounds on his hands, which according to the court indicated that he had tried to resist his mother's attack.
The 38-year-old had been enraged by a family photograph published on Facebook by her estranged husband, in which she and her son did not appear.
The boy's grandfather, Tahir Lord, also died of a heart attack when he discovered his deceased grandson. The mother had admitted to the murder of Erzan.
