Police and customs officials seized more than 66 kilograms of shisha tobacco, hundreds of cigarette cartons and other untaxed tobacco products during a vehicle check in Ayia Napa.

Police and customs officials seized more than 66 kilograms of shisha tobacco, hundreds of cartons of cigarettes and other untaxed tobacco products during a vehicle check in Ayia Napa on Wednesday.
The check was carried out after police assessed information as part of ongoing operations aimed at tackling the illegal possession, transport and trade of tobacco products without duties.
Working in collaboration with customs officials, police officers inspected a vehicle that was parked in a public car park in Ayia Napa. During the inspection, officials discovered more than 66 kilograms of shisha tobacco, 406 cartons of cigarettes, 64 cartons of cigars, 40 cartons of heated tobacco products and 2.75 kilograms of loose cigarette tobacco.
Customs seized the vehicle and all tobacco products that were found.
Ayia Napa police, in collaboration with customs officials, continue the investigation.
