Police in Famagusta district seized more than seven kilograms of drugs, including a large quantity of kief, during a search of a plot of land. Two individuals, aged 49 and 28, were arrested.

Police officers in Famagusta district seized over seven kilograms of narcotics on Saturday, including a significant quantity of kief, which constitutes an unprecedented incident for Cyprus.
The operation was carried out following a search of a plot of land belonging to a 49-year-old man in the Famagusta area. During the operation, authorities arrested a 28-year-old man who was residing illegally in the Republic.
Officers discovered 6.37 kilograms of cannabis resin hidden inside a plastic toolbox, as well as one kilogram of kief, a fine powder consisting of the resin glands of cannabis flowers.
According to police, such a large quantity of kief had never been found before in Cyprus.
The 49-year-old owner of the plot and the 28-year-old were arrested and are expected to be brought before the Famagusta District Court.
