A 39-year-old man was arrested yesterday around 19:00 by members of the police and is being investigated for theft, receiving stolen goods and unlawful possession of property. The case concerns the removal of €26,000 from a parked vehicle belonging to a 77-year-old owner in the Limassol district, which took place on 22 June 2026.

A 28-year-old was also arrested alongside the 39-year-old on 24 June in connection with the same case. Officers conducted a search of the first suspect's home with a court warrant and located various items. Among these was a motorcycle that had been reported as stolen on 26 March 2026 in Limassol, musical instruments and jewellery. The suspect was unable to provide satisfactory explanations for how these items came to be in his possession, resulting in his detention for the offence of unlawful possession.

During the search, officers discovered an additional quantity of white crystalline substance weighing 0.7 grammes, which was tested and identified as methamphetamine (crystal).

The Limassol Crime Investigation Department is working with the Drug Enforcement Service and Polemitia Police Station for further investigation of the case.
