A 46-year-old woman is hospitalised on a ventilator at Limassol General Hospital after being shot by her 55-year-old husband, who is a member of the police force. Following the incident, the man ended his own life.
In the morning, at around 06:45, police were notified of gunshots on Iliassion Street in Polemidia. Police forces and an ambulance rushed to the scene.
Authorities found the 46-year-old woman severely wounded outside a vehicle. The 55-year-old was found in the passenger seat unconscious. The woman was transported by ambulance to hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
The Limassol Crime Detection Department continues to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
