Limassol: 30-year-old arrested over parcel containing 8 kilogrammes of opioids
Police officers from the PAKAN found eight kilogrammes of opioid substances in a courier package in Limassol and proceeded with the arrest of a 30-year-old.

Officers from PAKAN identified opioid substances with a total weight of eight kilogrammes in Limassol yesterday, according to a report by Phileleftheros.
Police officers conducted a thorough search of a suspicious parcel found at a branch of a transport company in the city. Inside it they discovered 40 packages containing dried poppy pods of the species Papaver somniferum.
To facilitate the investigation, a 30-year-old was arrested on a warrant from the court. Today he is expected to appear before the District Court of Limassol so that a remand order can be issued.
In recent days, more than 30 kilogrammes of similar substances have been seized, whilst seven individuals have been arrested in Nicosia and Limassol and are being held. The PAKAN investigation is ongoing.
