Two men aged 39 and 42 were arrested in Paphos district following a violent assault on a 26-year-old, during which they used a blade and a golf club.

Police forces in Paphos have arrested two men, aged 39 and 42, in connection with a case of assault, carrying a blade, illegal possession and carrying an offensive weapon, as well as intimidation.
According to the Philenews website, the two individuals appeared at a 35-year-old's residence in the Paphos area yesterday evening around 9.00 pm, demanding payment of a debt that the property owner allegedly owed to the 39-year-old.
The 35-year-old was not present. Instead, his employee, aged 26, was inside the house. The two visitors are alleged to have attacked the young worker, using a sharp object and a golf club, and then fled.
The 26-year-old was transported to the General Hospital of the area. Medical staff established that he had sustained a deep wound to a limb and abrasions to the skin. The 39-year-old perpetrator was later also transferred to the same hospital, who had likewise been injured to the upper limb. After receiving medical care, he was discharged.
Both suspects were arrested by court warrant and are being held to facilitate the investigation. The Paphos CID continues to investigate the case.
