The father and stepmother of two children, aged 10 and 8, who were found dead inside a vehicle in the Xylotymbou area, have been remanded in custody for three days by the court of the British Bases.
According to a statement from the Sovereign Bases Areas Police (SBA), the cause of death of the two boys has not yet been established and further examination is required. The police spokesman stated that following the autopsy, determining the exact cause of death will require additional analysis.
The authorities have scheduled the next court hearing for Thursday at 12:00 noon. The possibility that additional toxicology and forensic examinations may be required before the final determination of the circumstances of the tragic incident remains open.
The investigation continues with the aim of establishing the exact sequence of events that led to the deaths of the two children. The authorities have not released further details to the public regarding the progress of the investigations.
