Five people were arrested and 234 drivers were cited in a single night during coordinated police patrols across Cyprus.

During the night, police forces significantly increased their presence in urban centres across the country. The aim was to prevent serious criminal offences, maintain public order and strengthen residents' sense of safety.
The operations resulted in the arrest of five people for various offences. The cases they face include failure to appear in court, possession of portable blades, and unlawful residence within the borders of the Republic of Cyprus.
During checks, 407 vehicles and 518 people inside or within the vehicles were examined. In 47 property inspections, two violations were recorded.
From traffic controls, 234 violations were detected. Nearly 42 per cent of these (98 cases) concerned drivers travelling at speeds exceeding the legal limit. In 71 alcohol tests, three drivers were found to have blood alcohol levels above the legal limit. One test for substances returned a positive result, and one vehicle was seized.
