A fire broke out in a car park in the village of Yeri, in Nicosia district, on Saturday afternoon, with authorities suspecting that it may have been deliberate.
The fire started at around 4:15 p.m. It completely destroyed two vehicles. Additionally, approximately two acres of dry vegetation were burnt.
Andreas Kettis, spokesman for the Fire Service, stated that five fire vehicles — four from the Fire Service and one from the Forestry Department — rushed to the scene to bring the fire under control.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.
