The 46-year-old woman who was shot by her 55-year-old partner's service pistol, a member of the Cyprus Police, has undergone further surgical procedures. The incident took place on the morning of Tuesday (30 June) and the perpetrator subsequently took his own life.
According to philenews, the victim has been transferred from a private health centre in the Limassol district to the intensive care unit of Nicosia General Hospital. Her health is described as unstable, though she is not in immediate danger. Four bullets struck her in the head and abdomen, causing damage to the liver, stomach, and pancreas. Significantly, the shot to the head did not cause brain damage.
The funeral service for the suicide victim will be held on Saturday, 4 July at 10:00 at the Church of Agia Barbara in Zakaki. The family does not wish to receive condolences, and instead of wreaths requests donations for the support of his children.
Investigators are waiting for the victim's condition to stabilise so they can take a statement. This statement is expected to answer questions that remain unanswered. Meanwhile, material from security cameras and statements from people acquainted with the couple are being examined.
