Police proceeded on Saturday with the arrest of a 29-year-old as part of an investigation into the possession and transport of explosive materials during the Cyprus Cup final, according to Politis.
The final took place on Friday at the GSP stadium in Nicosia. The suspect was arrested on the basis of a court warrant and was immediately remanded in custody for investigation purposes.
Today he is expected to be presented before Nicosia District Court, where a remand order will be requested. The investigation is continuing by the Nicosia TAE (Traffic and Explosives Unit).
