The Drug Enforcement Service (UKAM) arrested a 34-year-old man in Ammochostos province after seizing a quantity of cocaine with a total weight of 198 grammes that had been received via postal service. According to Politis, the operation was carried out today following the collection and assessment of information by UKAM members.
Authorities intervened at the moment when the 34-year-old was receiving the package from the postal service in the area. He was arrested in flagrante delicto and was taken into custody.
He is being investigated on three charges: illegal importation of narcotics, illegal possession of narcotics, and illegal possession of narcotics for the purpose of supply to a third party. He is expected to be brought before court tomorrow for the issuance of a detention order.
The case is being investigated by the Ammochostos Regional Unit of UKAM.
