A 40-year-old man was arrested yesterday by the authorities as part of an investigation into multiple break-ins at homes, theft of property and unlawful possession of items in Paphos province.

The investigation began following a report of a burglary and theft at a residence on 16 March at Paphos TAE. Police officers entered the suspect's home, where they found various items. Some of these matched stolen goods from various burglary cases at residences.

Shortly before midnight, the authorities located and arrested the man on the basis of a judicial warrant. During the subsequent investigation, small quantities of drugs were found in his possession, as well as other items for which he could not provide credible explanations.

The 40-year-old was remanded in custody and was brought today before the Paphos District Court, where a detention order was issued for a period of eight days.
