A 41-year-old man was arrested on a court order for attempted armed robbery at a bank in Larnaca — he is already in custody in connection with another robbery case at a jewellery store.

Police carried out the arrest of a 41-year-old man on Saturday afternoon, based on a relevant warrant issued by a court. The arrested man is allegedly involved in an attempted robbery at a credit institution branch located in the Larnaca district.

The incident in question took place on 19 June, according to Philenews. In addition to the bank case, the same man is also accused of theft of vehicle registration plates, which is connected to an incident that occurred on the same day in the Larnaca area.

The suspect had already been placed under restriction in connection with a different attempted robbery case at a jewellery and gold retail shop in the same district.

The investigation of the cases has been taken on by the Larnaca CID, in coordination with the Kition area Police Station.
