Arrest of 46-year-old man for 11 burglary and theft cases in Famagusta

A 46-year-old man was arrested yesterday in Famagusta district, accused of a series of burglaries and thefts committed over the last four months.

The arrest was carried out by members of the Famagusta Police Investigation Unit (TAE), who were investigating two cases of unlawful entry and theft that had recently occurred in the area. The officers were in possession of a court warrant against the suspect.

During interrogation, the 46-year-old allegedly confessed to committing the two cases under investigation. Additionally, he admitted participation in nine other similar incidents, bringing the total number to eleven.

All the offences were committed in Famagusta district, spanning from March to 1 July. The exact amount of goods stolen has not been disclosed.

The arrested man is expected to be brought before the Famagusta District Court today, in order for a request to be made for his remand in custody. The Famagusta Police Investigation Unit continues investigating the case.
