A 54-year-old man was arrested on Thursday morning in Limassol following a European arrest warrant that had been issued by Greek authorities against him.
According to information that emerged, the individual had previously been sentenced to five years imprisonment by a Greek court. The charges concerned fraud offences that are said to have taken place during the period 2008 to 2009 in Greece.
The arrested man is expected to be brought before the Limassol District Court in order to begin extradition proceedings to Greece, where he will serve the sentence imposed upon him.
