One person was arrested for carrying a knife during organised police operations carried out the previous night in urban areas across the island, according to Philenews.
As part of the operations, 491 drivers and 212 passengers were stopped and checked. In addition, 67 premises inspections were conducted, resulting in 18 reports.
During traffic control checks, a total of 291 reports were filed for various violations, whilst 13 traffic violation cases are under investigation. Of these reports, 105 concerned speeding violations. Eleven vehicles were also impounded.
In alcohol checks, which totalled 197, ten positive results were recorded. Two drivers tested positive in preliminary drug tests.
The Police announced that crime prevention and suppression operations continue on a daily basis with enhanced presence, targeted checks and immediate operational action.
