A 57-year-old man was arrested in a village in Larnaca district following a search of his home, during which police found a pistol, loaded magazines, explosive devices, cannabis, cocaine and €40,000 in cash.

A 57-year-old man was arrested in a village in Larnaca district following an operation by authorities, during which large quantities of narcotics, a firearm with magazines, improvised explosive devices and €40,000 in cash were found at his residence.
The Crime Investigation Department of Larnaca, in cooperation with the Anti-Narcotics Service and the Property Crimes Prosecution Service of the same district, proceeded with the arrest as part of efforts to combat serious and organised crime. Officers executed a judicial search warrant at the suspect's home and premises.
During the search, authorities located and seized one pistol, seven magazines loaded with ammunition, improvised explosive devices containing gunpowder, approximately 210 grammes of herbal cannabis, approximately 70 grammes of cocaine, approximately 5 grammes of cannabis resin, two packages containing cannabidiol and two precision scales. In addition, approximately €40,000 in cash was found and seized.
The arrested man is expected to be brought before court the following day for examination of a detention request. Investigations by the services involved are continuing.
