Police arrested a 43-year-old man inside the District Court of Limassol after a security check showed that he was carrying ammunition.
The incident occurred early this morning. The man passed through an X-ray screening device at the court entrance. The X-rays revealed that the suspect was carrying bullets.
The initial security forces conducting the check immediately immobilised and arrested him for a flagrant criminal offence. The city's Crime Investigation Department has now taken over the investigation of the case.
Investigators are examining every possible scenario for how and why the arrested man had these items in his possession when entering the courthouse.
