Fourth person remanded for drugs case in Ammochostos
An investigation by the Drug Enforcement Agency led to the arrest of four people following the discovery of significant quantities of cannabis on agricultural property in Ammochostos province.

Fourth person remanded for drugs case in Ammochostos
Prosecuting authorities have made a further arrest in connection with a case involving large quantities of illegal substances on agricultural land in Ammochostos province.
Specifically, a 35-year-old man was arrested this morning at approximately 10:45 on the basis of a warrant issued by the court. The arrested person was remanded in custody to enable investigation into his alleged involvement in drug trafficking activities.
The case began on 20 June 2026, when officers from the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) conducted a search at a farmhouse belonging to a 49-year-old. During the operation, 6 kilograms and 373 grammes of cannabis resin were discovered and seized, along with 1 kilogramme of synthetic cannabis — known as KIEF.
On the same day, two further people were arrested: the owner of the farmhouse, aged 49, and a 28-year-old. On 22 June 2026, a 37-year-old was brought in for questioning. All three of these individuals remain in custody pursuant to court orders.
With today's arrest, the total number of people arrested stands at four. The local DEA office in Ammochostos is continuing investigations to fully clarify the case.
