A 35-year-old man was arrested as the fourth suspect in a case involving possession and trafficking of cannabis resin and synthetic cannabis KIEF in Ammochostos district.

Fourth suspect arrested in 7kg drugs case in Ammochostos
A 35-year-old man was arrested by police as the fourth suspect in a case involving a large quantity of drugs in Ammochostos district. The arrest was made at approximately 10:45 on Wednesday morning pursuant to a court warrant, and the arrested person was remanded in custody for investigative purposes.
The case began on 20 June 2026, when the Drug Enforcement Service (UKKA) conducted a search of a 49-year-old's farm in the area. During the operation, 6 kilograms and 373 grams of cannabis resin were located and seized, as well as 1 kilogram of synthetic cannabis, a substance known as KIEF.
Three other individuals, aged 49, 37 and 28, had previously been arrested in connection with the same case and remain in custody pursuant to court orders. The 49-year-old and the 28-year-old were arrested on 20 June during the search, whilst the 37-year-old was arrested two days later, on 22 June.
Police are continuing investigations to fully clarify the drugs trafficking case.
