Three arrests in Limassol for drugs and stolen goods
Officers from the cycling unit in Limassol made three arrests yesterday following a check they conducted on a vehicle on Alexandreias Avenue. The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m., when authorities spotted a vehicle with three passengers stationary in an open area.
As officers approached, the driver threw an object from beneath the vehicle. The subsequent check revealed a glass vessel with methamphetamine residue. The driver, aged 31, was arrested on the spot. Upon further search of his personal belongings, a small bag was found containing six handmade watches, jewellery and additional traces of methamphetamine. The young man was unable to justify the lawful acquisition of the findings, resulting in him being taken into custody once more.
The watches came from, according to police, a burglary of a residence that had been previously reported to the Pissouri police station. Additionally, the drug test to which the 31-year-old was subjected came back positive.
The two fellow passengers, both women aged 26, also found themselves on the wrong side of the law. During the check of their personal items, a quantity of cannabis was discovered. Inside the vehicle, a small quantity of cocaine was additionally found. One of the two had already been subject to an arrest warrant issued by Larnaca court, as she had failed to appear at a scheduled hearing.
The three individuals were taken into custody. The case continues to be handled by Limassol's drug enforcement unit, Pissouri police station and the city's traffic police. Further information was published by Philenews.
