Santi Case: Attorney General Examines Criminal Prosecutions

The head of the Attorney General's office, Yiorgos Savvidis, informed Parliament that the Police investigation into the Santi case has now been completed and the related file is in his hands. He responded to a question from a member of Parliament, clarifying that decisions are pending on whether prosecutions will be brought.

According to Mr Savvidis, the Police initially completed the first stage of the investigation. Subsequently, directions were given for further examination in order to identify potential criminal liability. Now the file has been completed and is under examination to determine whether criminal prosecutions will proceed.

The directions given to the Police concerned the dissemination of false information, the fabrication of forged documents and the circulation of such documents.
