The court imposed a sentence of deprivation of liberty with a suspended deferment. At the same time, it banned him from political activity. This verdict will prevent him from continuing to hold public office and engaging in politics.
Embezzlement of municipal finances ranks among serious economic crimes. In the Czech Republic, courts have repeatedly dealt with similar cases in recent years, in which elected representatives have abused their position for personal enrichment at the expense of municipalities.
