33-year-old brutally attacked in Bielefeld – Police search for perpetrators
A 33-year-old man from Bielefeld was attacked and seriously injured by several unknown individuals on the night of 21 June whilst on his way home. Investigators from Commission 14 are urgently seeking witnesses.
The incident occurred at around midnight in the city centre, near a residential and commercial building at the intersection of Arndtstraße and Mindener Straße. The man was on foot when a stranger approached him. Suddenly, someone struck him on the head from behind, causing him to fall to the ground. Subsequently, four or five assailants are said to have kicked him.
After the attackers fled, the victim made his own way to a nearby hospital. His injuries were treated there. On the following Sunday morning, he filed a report at the North police station.
The man who initially approached the 33-year-old is described as having a Mediterranean appearance with dark hair. No further detailed descriptions are available for the other perpetrators.
