A masked man robbed a drinks market in Weißenfels on Wednesday afternoon and made off with cash. Despite a search, the perpetrator remained at large.

A man robbed a drinks market in the Beuditz-Passage in the Saale city on late Wednesday afternoon. Shortly before half past four, he threatened staff present with a knife and demanded they hand over money. After the robbery, he escaped on foot via the adjacent car park.
Police units conducted a search with a large contingent afterwards but were unable to find the perpetrator. Forensic technicians secured evidence at the scene.
People who had witnessed the robbery described the fugitive as athletic, approximately 1.70 to 1.80 metres tall and concealed by a balaclava. He was speaking German.
