Three arrested four years after armed robbery at Cologne wholesale market
Cologne criminal police have arrested three men suspected of robbing a wholesale market in the cathedral city four years ago. The perpetrators are believed to have used an assault rifle during the crime.
Investigators arrested the suspects on 17 June. The Cologne public prosecutor's office and police had previously obtained search warrants. During raids in Cologne and the surrounding area, officers seized several mobile telephones, data carriers and cash.
The robbery took place on 18 June 2022. Several masked men entered the wholesale market and threatened those present with a firearm. This was an assault rifle. The perpetrators stole cash and subsequently fled. At that time, approximately 15 people were in the building.
Police believe that the now arrested individuals are the suspected perpetrators. The three men were brought before a magistrate. The magistrate issued arrest warrants for all three on suspicion of aggravated robbery.
