Educator dies after intervening in knife attack on pupil in Gosen-Neu Zittau
A 30-year-old educator came to the aid of an attacked 18-year-old at the Docemus school campus and was fatally wounded in the process. The suspected perpetrator is a 19-year-old ex-boyfriend of the victim.

A day after the fatal attack at the Docemus school campus in Gosen-Neu Zittau near Berlin, further details about the incident have emerged, according to 20 Minuten.
According to the Frankfurt (Oder) public prosecutor's office, the 18-year-old pupil who was killed is the former girlfriend of the suspected perpetrator. A classmate told the Bild newspaper that the two had quarrelled at a bus stop in front of the school before the attack.
An educator recounted that she heard screams from the school courtyard at approximately 13:15. From the classroom, she observed the suspect stabbing the pupil multiple times. Shortly afterwards, the 19-year-old was arrested.
The witness saw the young woman lying on the ground while the suspected attacker knelt over her. "He took her in his arms, held her tightly and laughed hysterically," the educator said. The 30-year-old educator Philipp P. rushed to the pupil's aid – and was himself fatally injured in the process.
Philipp P. was valued as a colleague at the school. He worked part-time as a goalkeeper coach and played for SG Grün-Weiss Deutsch-Wusterhausen in the district upper league. A year ago he had married; according to RTL, he had become a father shortly before the incident.
The public prosecutor's office has charged the 19-year-old German citizen with two murders based on base motives. He has not commented on the charges thus far. He had no previous criminal record.
