A former executive at a savings bank has been killed during a robbery in Saarbrücken. The senior was in a multi-storey car park in the evening to pay his parking fee when an unknown assailant attacked him. Shortly afterwards, the victim died from the injuries sustained.

Saarbrücken criminal police have now released images from a security camera in an effort to identify the alleged attacker. The footage shows a man who carried a guitar on his back during the incident and also had a portable speaker box with him. Based on these distinctive features, officers are currently investigating street musicians as a possible group of suspects.

How the robbery unfolded in detail and what evidence investigators were able to find has not been made public. The authority appeals to the public: anyone who recognises the man pictured or can provide information about the incident should contact the relevant authorities.
